When we arrive at your home these are the first steps taken to start the job.
Step 1: Probably the most important step is to check the overall condition of your current gutter system. In this walk through we look at current gutter pitch and determine whether or not it is correct or will need to be repitched ( lowering or raising the gutter to allow water to correctly flow safely away from your home).
Step 2: Once we have determined your current gutter status we then move to high pressure water cleaning. This is done @1800 PSI water pressure to blow out all debris and blast away all sludge and roof granular that has caked your gutters basin. This allows the water to move much more freely and keeps any small debris that might enter the gutters to flow out of the downspout just as it was originally intended to do.
Step 3: Survey the current condition of all gutterspikes or nails. We liken these nails to tube socks that no longer stay at your calf and creep down as the day wears on. Attempting to tighten loose gutterspikes or nails can be fruitless. It may work for a small amount of time but once the gutter is back up to capacity with water the spikes WILL work their way back loose. Our solution is using gutterscrews to firmly hold gutter to fascia. These screws once installed are so strong they will have to be taken out if gutter ever needs to come down! Yes they are that strong! If your gutter has an "inner hanger" system ( hangers that fit inside the gutter and support the front and back of the gutter and aids in keeping the pitch correct) then we will reposition to a better area and rescrew into the hanger.
Step 4: Recaulk. Most gutters we see generally need more caulking. Whether the original caulk has worn away or the original gutter guys were worried about 4 o'clock and did not do a sufficient job the first time we make this a very important step and get it right! One of the most difficult steps in guttering is making sure the caulk is good for many years to come! We see PLENTY of less than average or bad caulking jobs. We only use high strength elastomeric caulk and we always put plenty in the problem areas (inner miters or outer miters) This is the last step to prepare for the....
Step 5: Guttershield installation. Now that these items have all been covered and dealt with we will move on to the installation process. When your Guttershield Installation Specialist proceeds with attaching the shield to your gutter he takes great care in making sure the adjustments are correct for the roof pitch and placement of your gutters. Our Installation Specialists know that if the Guttershield is wrong in any way and could promote problems he will be responsible for his work. This is our guarantee to you. No unkept promises, just getting it right or promptly returning to make sure the customer is satisfied that is how we do it!
